AJP Mission Trip to Israel, March 2025

In March 2025, 19 AJP members embarked on a mission to visit trauma resiliency centers in Israel. Most of us were trained trauma specialist mental health professionals from Canada, the US, and South Africa. We met with over 33 Israeli professionals in several universities and other counseling centers. Several came to meet with us at our Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem. We went by bus with our tour guides and security to the South where we paid our respects to the fallen victims of October 7th and visited the first counseling center on scene as well as Kibbutz Kfar Aziz and the Nova Festival site. On our way back to our hotel that day, we stopped in a treatment spa and were treated to a session in their wonderful swimming pool. 

These pictures and those on the video were done by our videographer who followed us everywhere we went so we could have this recording. We are in the process of making other videos of the various lectures where we learned about Israel’s ability to rebuild resiliency in those who need to recover from trauma.

We are also under contract with Springer Nature to publish a book on Jewish Trauma where we will incorporate our theories of resiliency and trauma specific treatment.
