At different times in our lives, we might be struggling and feeling unsure of how to help ourselves. This can lead to increased anxiety, low mood and feelings of “burnout”. This can happen for clinicians and clients alike due to difficult situations in our lives and the world around us.
Coping skills provide us with strategies to build a wellness toolbox during challenging times and can enhance overall mental health and wellbeing
This talk will provide participants with a few key coping strategies to take with you in order to enhance your mental health, engage in self care and enhance overall well-being. These skills can be used for ourselves and also delivered to our clients in order to enhance their mental health and well-being.
Dr. Marlene Taube-Schiff has been a Registered Psychologist for almost 20 years and her clinical work has focused on the delivery of scientifically-supported treatments for obsessive compulsive and related disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship issues, as well as a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems. She is the Director and Founder of Forward Thinking Psychological Services, a multidisciplinary practice that delivers services to youth and adults with symptoms of OCD and OCD related disorders as well as anxiety, depression and trauma. She is one of the founding professionals of the Sunnybrook Intensive Services Program for OCD and is still involved in research initiatives for the program. She has over 25 scientific publications and has presented numerous workshops and symposiums both nationally and internationally. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and is a member of the Anxiety Canada Scientific Advisory Committee. Dr. Taube-Schiff is also engaged in a variety of teaching opportunities for healthcare professionals and trainees across Canada. Dr. Taube-Schiff is currently the President of the Ontario Psychological Association.
